# Court Rules
> A read-only reference of the rules that apply to your case's jurisdiction.
The **Court Rules** tab is a quick reference: it shows the rules that apply to this case based on where it's filed. It's read-only — a place to check the governing rules without leaving the case.
## Court Profile
At the top, a **Court Profile** card shows the case's jurisdiction, court, and division. This is where the rules below come from. You don't set the jurisdiction on this tab — it's drawn from the case's court details, which you edit on the case itself; change those and this tab updates to match.
## The Rules
When a jurisdiction is set and rules are on file for it, they appear grouped by rule set (for example the local rules, the rules of civil procedure, and so on). Each rule shows its citation, an effective date when there is one, the text of the rule, and a **Source** link to the official version where available.
If no jurisdiction is set yet, the tab tells you to fill in the case's court profile first. If a jurisdiction is set but no rules are on file for it, it says so — the reference library just doesn't have that court yet.
