# Timeline & Search
> The treatment chronology and full-text search inside records.
Two tools turn a pile of records into something you can use in a demand: a **treatment timeline** and a **search** that reads inside the records themselves.
## The Treatment Timeline
Reached from **View timeline**, this is the clinical chronology of the case — every visit in order, with the facility, treating physician, visit type, a summary, and the billed amount. Gaps in treatment are called out between visits (and flagged when they run long), and possible duplicate entries are surfaced for review. A summary band at the top totals the treatment span, encounters, providers, billed specials, the largest gap, and causation and pre-existing notes.
Once the chronology is complete and reviewed, you approve it — and the demand readiness checklist reads that approval. You can hide dollar amounts for a clean clinical exhibit, and export the chronology as a Word exhibit or a PDF/CSV summary.
A records check shows, per billed provider, whether records have never been requested, are overdue, are requested, are received but not yet on the timeline, or are complete — so you can see what's still missing before a demand.
## Searching Inside Records
The **Search records** panel searches the full text of your records — the actual words inside the documents, not just file names. Type a couple of characters or more and it returns matching records with a highlighted excerpt and a link to open the file in Drive. It works even when AI processing is switched off, because it reads the records' extracted text directly.
