The Demands List
On a PI case, the Demands tab lists each demand with its type, carrier, sent date, response-due date, and status (Draft, Sent, or Responded). Expand a demand to see the individual claims it covers. Firm-wide, the Demands page shows every demand across your cases as a board split between Sent and To Send, with an overdue flag when a response deadline passes.

Building a Demand
Open the demand form
Click + Add Demand and fill in the details: the demand type (policy limits, initial, revised, final, supplemental), the carrier, how it is being sent, the adjuster, and the sent date — which auto-fills a response-due date 30 days out that you can adjust.
Cover claimants and claim details
Check off which claimants the demand covers and record the claim details (claim type, claim number, policy limits, liability position).
Pass the readiness check
When you move a demand from draft to sent, a readiness check appears — confirming treatment, records, chronology, and bills are in order — which you can override with a reason.
Generating Documents
Beyond demands, Matter Vault has a template catalog spanning intake, medical, investigation, liens and funding, demand, and settlement documents. The Demand Package template
The Demand Package template
The Demand Package template fills a Word shell with your case’s information and splices in the medical chronology automatically.

Firm vs. standard templates
Firm admins manage these under Document Templates, where the firm can upload its own version of a template; otherwise the system’s standard version is used.
