The Header

At the top you’ll see the case number and incident type, then the client’s name as the title (last name, first name). If there’s more than one client, a small +N chip appears — hover it to see the additional clients with their dates of birth and phone numbers. Below the name sits a badge row: the lead attorney, the current stage, and the date of loss and SOL date. On the right are two actions: Export Case Log, which downloads the full activity history, and Edit Case.

The Stage Stepper

Across the page is a five-step progress bar — Intake, Investigation, Demand, Settlement, Litigation. Completed phases show a checkmark, the current phase is highlighted and numbered, and upcoming phases are greyed out. It’s a visual indicator only; you change the stage from the Case Snapshot below.

The Status Cards

A row of cards gives you the case’s vital signs. The app is deliberately “blocker-first”: if something is holding the case up, an Action Needed card appears in red at the front of the row and links straight to the problem.
In priority order: a conflict check still pending, a retainer not yet signed, a critical SOL deadline, missing records before a demand, and settlement authorization needed. When nothing is blocking the case, the Action Needed card drops off and a Policy Limit card takes its place.
  • SOL — the statute date, turning red when critical.
  • Stage Status — a plain-English read of where the case sits (for example “Records outstanding” or “Offer received”).
  • Med. Specials — total billed, with a count of bills and providers.
  • Treatment — whether the client is still treating, wrapping up, or done, with a link to the Medical tab.

Case Snapshot

The left panel is the case’s reference card: case type, date of loss, SOL date, referral source, court, and judge. Its Edit link opens the full edit panel. The Stage field here is interactive — it’s how you actually move the case forward.
Pick a phase from the dropdown and the case advances. To close a case, choose Closed; you’ll be asked for a reason (Settled, Dropped, No liability, Client declined, or Other). A closed case shows a Reopen button that works the same way. At the bottom of the panel are the team avatars, the lead attorney, and an + Add Member link.

Next Actions

The right panel lists the concrete next steps the system has worked out for this case, each linking to where you’d handle it. When there’s nothing outstanding it reads “All caught up.” Below the list are quick views of the Client Portal (who holds access) and a link through to Notes.

Intake Readiness

This checklist tracks the opening paperwork every new case needs: the conflict check, the intake questionnaire, the retainer agreement, the letter of representation, the HIPAA authorization, and the notice to preserve evidence. Each row shows its status and a one-click action — Run check, Begin, Generate, and so on. The letter of representation stays locked until the retainer is signed. Open Intake jumps to the full Intake tab.

Recent Activity and Client Portal

Lower down, Recent Activity shows the latest few events on the case (it fills in once email sync is running). Beside it, a second Client Portal panel lets you invite a client or re-send an invite, and shows what’s been shared with them.

Matter Operations

The bottom block holds the case’s plumbing.
The case’s dedicated email address, with a copy button. Email sent here lands in the case automatically.
The AI processing switch for this case. Turning it on sends the case’s documents to an AI service for analysis, which carries a per-case cost, so it asks you to confirm. Only team members with AI-management permission can change it.
The case’s folder tree in your firm’s Drive, with a link to open the folder and a Rebuild Drive Folders button if the structure ever needs regenerating.

Editing the Case

1

Open the editor

Click Edit Case at the top right, or the Edit link on the Case Snapshot.
2

Update the details

The panel covers case number, case type, date of loss, the SOL period and date, incident and liability narratives, pain-and-suffering and pre-existing-condition notes, court details, the Gmail sync label, and referral information.
3

Override the SOL date if needed

The SOL date can be overridden by hand — you’ll be asked for a reason, and once overridden the system stops recalculating it.
4

Save

Click Save Changes.
