The Activity Log

The Activity tab is the case’s journal — a reverse-chronological feed of calls, emails, notes, document events, and deadlines, all in one place. Some entries you add by hand; many are recorded for you as work happens elsewhere in the case.

Where Entries Come From

The feed pulls together several streams automatically: notes you’ve logged, document custody events, the opening-document milestones from intake (retainer sent, HIPAA signed, conflict cleared), deadlines, and email activity. The result is a single timeline of the whole case, not just one corner of it.

Reading the Feed

Each row shows the date and time, the entry type (as a colored badge — note, call, email, text, filing, task, system, or deadline), and a subject with a short preview. Calls and emails also show whether they were inbound or outbound, and rows can carry small status chips — a failed delivery, an item needing review, a deadline’s due/completed state, or a flag that an email may contain medical records. You can search the feed, filter it by type or by who logged the entry, and sort by date, type, or subject. Clicking a row expands it to show the full detail.

Adding an Entry

The + Add Entry button opens a form to log a note, call, email, or text by hand. You set the type, the direction and duration for a call, the contact it relates to, the date, who logged it, an optional subject, and the body. This is how you capture the things that happen off-platform — a phone call with the adjuster, a text from the client — so the case journal stays complete. One thing you can do right from the timeline: when a deadline appears in the feed, you can mark it complete without leaving the page.
