The Demands tab
The Demands tab tracks each demand package you send, the claims it covers, and the offer-and-counter rounds that follow. Like the rest of the case, it filters to one claimant at a time when there’s more than one.
Each demand shows its type, the carrier and adjuster, when it was sent and how, the response-due date with a countdown, and its status. Expand a demand to see the individual claims it covers — each with the claimant, claim type, policy limits, and status. If a demand’s response is overdue, a banner reminds you to check on it or grant an extension.
+ Add Demand opens a panel where you record the demand type (policy limits, initial, revised, final, supplemental), the carrier and adjuster, how it’s being sent, and the sent date — which fills in a response-due date 30 days out that you can change. You then check off which claimants the demand covers; one claim is created per claimant, and that coverage is fixed once the demand is created. Shared claim details — claim type, claim number, per-person and per-occurrence policy limits, and the liability position — are stamped onto each claim.
A demand’s status is worked out for you rather than set by hand: Draft until it has a sent date, Sent once it does, and Responded when the carrier makes a move. When you save a demand as sent, a readiness check runs through the case — treatment, records, chronology, bills, the case summary, and a missing-records check. Anything incomplete shows a link to fix it and an option to override with a reason. It never hard-blocks you; it makes sure the decision to send early is a deliberate one.
Sending a demand creates a matching Insurance Response Due deadline that moves in step with the demand, and granting an extension updates both. To produce the letter itself, use the Generate demand package action on a claim, which builds a Word document from the case data and your firm’s template. An enclosures section lets you assemble and export the supporting exhibits as a combined PDF or ZIP.
