The Parties tab

The Parties tab is the cast of the case: your clients, the adverse parties, their insurers, opposing counsel, witnesses, experts, and anyone else. Each group has its own section with its own + Add button, and every party you add is drawn from — or saved into — your firm’s Directory, so you never re-key the same person twice.

How a Party Card Works

Every party shows as a card with the person or organization’s name, a status badge, and their address, phone, and email (phone and email have copy buttons). A pencil edits the party; a trash icon removes them. When you edit, the identity — who this party actually is — is locked behind a second pencil, so you can update their case details without accidentally turning one person into another. If you do edit a shared contact’s core details, the app warns you that the change applies everywhere that contact is used. To swap a party out for a different person, you remove them and add the correct one. That’s deliberate, and the removal step always asks for a reason and a confirmation.

Clients

Your client (or clients). Each client card shows a Primary badge for the lead client, plus date of birth, health insurance, and phone. When you add or edit a client you can record date of birth, the last four of their SSN, treatment status, and whether they’re a minor or the primary client. You can’t delete the only client on a case. Two sub-rosters live under a client:
  • Guardians appear when a client is marked a minor — you record each guardian’s relationship and can mark a primary guardian.
  • Treatment tracks each provider the client is seeing, with treatment status, next appointment, MMI date, and treatment end. You can log a missed appointment or send an appointment reminder when one is overdue.

Adverse Party and Insurance Carriers

The Adverse Party section holds the other side — an individual or a business. For a business you can record the employee or agent involved and the registered-agent details. An Uninsured badge flags parties with no coverage. Insurance Carriers tracks every policy in play, tagged by type (first-party, third-party, health, and so on). Each carrier card shows the claim number, limits, and adjusters. There’s a dedicated policy-limits workflow: you log a limits request, then record the disclosure when it comes back (or flag it overdue). Adding a carrier captures the full policy picture — policy and group numbers, claim number, per-person and per-occurrence limits, the liability position, and one or more adjusters with their roles.

Opposing Counsel and Witnesses

Opposing Counsel is recorded as a firm with one or more attorneys beneath it, each with a bar number, and one marked as lead. Witnesses capture a name, their relationship to the case (passenger, bystander, and so on), and notes.

Experts and Other Parties

Experts are tagged by the side that retained them (Plaintiff, Defense, or Both), with specialty and credentials, an hourly rate and retainer, and the full litigation calendar for that expert — disclosure due and disclosed dates, report due and received dates, and deposition date. Other Parties is a catch-all for anyone who doesn’t fit the categories above, recorded with a role or relationship.

Removing a Party

Removing a party opens a confirmation that asks why (added by mistake, or no longer involved) and requires you to acknowledge it can’t be undone. If the party only exists on this case, you may also have the option to delete them permanently from the Directory; if they’re used on other matters, the app tells you so and keeps them.
