Every date on a single case, including the statute of limitations.
The Deadlines tab
The Deadlines tab is every tracked date for this one case, in a list (or a month/week calendar). Some deadlines you add by hand; many are generated automatically as the case moves, and the statute of limitations gets special protection throughout.
Each deadline shows its title, type, due date, days remaining, and its reminder status. A colored bar on the left flags urgency — gold for the statute of limitations, red and pulsing for anything overdue, amber for due-soon. Derived deadlines carry an Auto badge; once you set a date by hand, it shows Overridden and the system stops recalculating it.You can search, filter by type and category, and sort the columns. If a statute-of-limitations deadline is overdue, a red banner sits above the list that can’t be dismissed.
Many deadlines appear on their own as the case progresses — a retainer follow-up, a records-request follow-up, a HIPAA expiration, the insurer’s response deadline once a demand goes out, and the statute of limitations itself. You add anything else with + Add Deadline, entering a title, type, due date, an optional repeat, and notes. The type defaults to nothing chosen on purpose, so a statute date is never set by accident.
The SOL deadline is handled with extra care. It’s pinned to the top, its date is owned by the case calculator rather than edited inline, and it can’t be deleted. This is deliberate — the one date a firm can’t afford to lose is the one the system guards hardest.
Each deadline’s menu lets you edit its due date, snooze it (with a required note), stop a recurring one, mark it complete, or delete it (except the SOL). Expanding a row shows its full reminder history and a revision history of every date change and why.For follow-up deadlines, a small Yes/No prompt appears right on the row — for example, “Have the medical records arrived?” Answering Yes completes the deadline and takes you to where you’d record the result; No drafts a follow-up email. Records-chase deadlines also show how many reminders and emails have gone out, with a link straight to those emails.
